Int 29er Class – New 2020 Europeans venue

In den vergangenen Monaten stand nach der Absage des Austragungsorts EM 2020 die Frage im Raum, ob die EM 2020 in Kiel Schilksee stattfinden könne. Leider war es so kurzfristig nicht möglich den gewünschten Termin der Int 29er Class Association einzurichten. Die Gespräche mit der Stadt Kiel und mit allen für einen solchen Event betroffenen Gremien führten nur zu einem Termin auf der Kieler Woche. Dies war allerdings nicht gewünscht.

Daher wurde die Entscheidung für die EM 2020 wie folgt getroffen – email von Steph Banham an die Deutsche 29er KV:

Dear National Class Chairs

Firstly, thank you for your patience in regard to the rescheduling of the venue for the 2020 Europeans.  The class was overwhelmed with the level of support it received from the 29er national classes in both quality and quantity of bids received.

After careful consideration, the event has been placed in Denmark at the Royal Danish Yacht Club, Copenhagen from 24th July – 1st August.  While extended by one day this mirrors the dates set for the original event.  This will ensure minimum disruption in an already set and congested calendar.
